NAYRA at reception was FANTASTIC and spoke great English (she's from Spain). The bar and reception staff spoke limited English and the maids and waitresses almost none. They all did excellent jobs as far as we're concerned and whilst we had to.. It's an all you can eat buffet people) d'oh.. WHO CARES!!! All these people complaining about such trivial rubbish need to get a life! The staff are doing their best and are learning as they go and frankly are lovely people especially if you smile and BE NICE. Maybe, judging by what I've read and seen written on Trip Advisor by some people, they need to get off their yachts occasionally and join the real world and give people a chance eh?
What you won't see in this review are trivial, unimportant and stupid moans and complaints, as that's all they realistically would have been. I only mentioned the sun lounger reserving thing cos it's the guests who are being ignorant and anything else slightly negative is just my opinion and stating a simple fact & anyway when YOU visit, these things I've mentioned may no longer be relevant cause they've been taken care of. So please don't be put off by them.
Our room was amazing even though some of the jets in the spa bath weren't working, it was still brilliant and worth every penny of the upgrade to us. Spa baths are notorious for breaking down, it's nobody's fault, it's just the way it is. The standard rooms are nice anyway so that won't be an issue for anyone in those rooms. The adult section was nice and quiet and in my view worth the extra dosh (On line prices are very steep). It has a lovely pool and nice wee bar with basic snack food including yummy freshly baked cake.
There are several actual four poster beds to lie on by the pool (if you were up early enough to get one). The main pool was also nice and fairly large with music from the animation team on all day, when they want to do the "fun stuff" they turn it up very loud, but you may love this, so no probs. There are big jacuzzis in both pool areas which are a nice touch and at the moment, while it's quiet, plenty of beds around the pools, although the adult section is going to struggle if the hotel gets even 3/4 full.
There is also a wonderful open air (free to use) Jacuzzi in the "Spa" where the gym is. You can sit in it & watch the waves break on the seashore (a very relaxing environment to read a book in when you've had enough sun for the day). The beach is beautiful with endless soft white sand. The waves when we were there were between 3 to 8 feet high rolling in all day with quite a strong undertow.
A lot of fun if you're an able bodied person but not so if you're delicate, they'll just knock you over. One guy dislocated his shoulder, so take care. I had one go at body surfing on my airbed only to be flipped upside down by trying to be too smart on too big a wave, whilst the wind caught the airbed and blew out to sea with me in hot pursuit only to find by the time I caught up with it and got back to shore it had a huge hole in it and become a flat bed. Ah well, lesson learned.
But it's a warm sea so well worth the effort especially if you like jumping waves.
